Updates on where we are at...

Progress is being made on the redesign of the web site, and I thought it was time to provide an update on where things are at...

First, a couple of weeks ago we experimented with our audio recordings to lessen the amount of bandwidth required for them.  The files were pretty big which in turn was not a good thing for those with limited bandwidth on their cell phones.  The size is now about 1/2 of what it was, and there have been no reports of issues.  There may be further enhancements down the road to lessen the size but not the quality of the recordings.  Do report any issues you have.

Also there will be additional changes coming in the near future related to this.  We are looking to get full audio recordings available.  We are also looking at getting video recordings online as well.

Meanwhile, work on converting the pages is now in full swing.  Recently a test on our hosting service was done and we were successful in getting the new layout to work.  As more pages get converted additional testing will be done to ensure everything works.

As for a date when this all goes live...stay tuned.  We are looking at later this Spring or early Summer to make the switch, but need to make sure the new layout and content are in line before we do.  Several individuals may be reached out to in helping provide some content validation to make sure it's in line with the Church's mission.

This has been a long journey to get to this point, and I hope that it will be well worth the wait.  But what I want to do is start getting individuals engaged in providing the content.  Most of all I want to hear from you to let me know how you feel you can fit into such a venture.  If you feel God is speaking to you in a way where you can be a contributor...even if just to pray...i'd love to hear from you.  E-mail me at kentarr@1streformed.org and let me know.
